About
Rotem Farkash is a cybersecurity and AI specialist and serial entrepreneur. He is also a frequent commentator on cybersecurity, cyber intelligence, and AI.
Farkash was born and raised in Hod HaSharon, a suburb of Tel Aviv. He always had a deep interest in technology and excelled at school.
Farkash attended university in Israel for one year but after realising that he wanted to pursue his own goals and dreams, he left to continue his lifelong journey of independent learning.
Following service as an R&D officer in the IDF's elite Unit 8200, during which he received multiple awards for innovation and operational contribution, Farkash entered the tech world.
He began working life as a cybersecurity consultant and security architect for a wide range of banking and telecom clients. Here he honed his expertise in software engineering, reverse engineering, and applied machine learning.
This experience enabled Farkash to start life as an entrepreneur, and he has founded a range of successful companies. His primary ventures include Inpedio BV, which he co-founded in 2016, and sold to TeleMessage, and Cycept, which he also co-founded, later selling the intellectual property to NICE Systems.
Throughout his entrepreneurial journey, Rotem has remained passionate about the community in which he grew up, donating his time and money to local humanitarian, children and health charities in Israel. While Farkash does not currently work for any of his former companies, he advises early-stage ventures in AI and algorithmic trading. His work in cyber intelligence and technology entrepreneurship has been covered in publications including the London Standard, GeekWire, Business Matters, and IBTimes.
He is currently working a new a startup himself which he cannot wait to reveal to the world and remains excited about all things AI and cybersecurity.
